Abstract

Advances in technology have led to the use of fitness tracking device applications used to track physical activity to become increasingly popular. Many users now can track as well as monitor levels of physical activity such as number of steps, distance and number of calories burned to change lifestyle towards an active lifestyle. However, although the use of fitness tracking device applications is growing rapidly, there is still little information available on the level of readiness and acceptance of the technology that drives users to use fitness tracking device applications. To overcome this lack of information, this study will examine in detail the level of technological readiness of users of fitness tracking device applications as well as the acceptance factors of the use of fitness tracking device technology. The results of the study will be able to provide valuable information on the level of readiness to use fitness tracker applications for selected demographic conditions as well as provide practical implications that can trigger various further studies in the future.
